Making a scene

This is a business where you have to make things happen.  Very rarely do things fall in your lap.  So how can I get something new for my reel?  Well, find a writer, hire a studio, makeup, and and editor, and do it!  I know that you're thinking... "right," but it's as simple as that.  Tap into your resources and remember, your acting career is a business.  You must always sharpen your skills (a topic I'm pretty passionate about for another post), but also make things happen.  My reel is TOTALLY out of date?  Why?  Because I hate chasing people down for footage, I don't like what I get, blah, blah, blah.  It's all excuses.  So here's what I've done, and I can't wait to share it with you:

I found a talented writer who knows my strengths as an actress.  We chose a scene location, i chose a talented actress I know to work with me, and voila, we have a short script for a scene.

I booked the studio, camera, sound, make-up artist, confirmed my scene partner, worked with a writer, and paid for the editing.  Good material is critical.  Here's how it turned out:
